My Mission

KSarge Coaching was started to help others meet their fitness goals.  Personal training and group training focusing on functional fitness is provided to teach proper form allowing daily activities to be performed easily and without injury.  Nutritional counseling focusing on clean eating is also offered to assist with a healthy eating lifestyle.

my story

My passion for fitness and helping others achieve their fitness goals came later in life.  In 2005 a friend challenged me to do a marathon for charity.  I completed the full marathon and joined the team for the next season as a mentor.  That second season I completed the half marathon however discovered my true joy was helping my team members complete their first event.  A year later, I left corporate America to follow my passion.  I became a Certified Personal Trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and started my own training business, KSarge Coaching.   

That challenge in ’05 kickstarted my own health and fitness — since that day I have lost 45 pounds.  I started with activity:  a full marathon, two half marathons, a few 10Ks, several 5Ks, Pat’s Run twice (I had to break my personal record), Phoenix Park’s National Trail Trek, Camelback Mountain, The Murph Challenge, March of the Fallen, strength training and more.   

In 2013 I overhauled my eating lifestyle to adopt clean eating (whole, natural foods and minimal processed food) and enjoy cooking more now than ever.  Once I was the picky eater in the family, now I go to the farmer’s market and ask about new types of produce and how to use it.  With a little bit of effort and thought I save money on groceries and create healthy and satisfying meals and snacks. 

Do not let all the race events sway you.  I am not an athlete - I am a regular person setting and exceeding my healthy goals by becoming stronger.  Over the years, the support of my coaches, trainers and workout buddies have gotten me through the do-overs and criticisms.  My 45 year old body could easily kick my 25 year old butt and have energy to go for a hike then make dinner.  If I can do it, so can you!
